Whole Wheat Basil Pasta

Ingredients

  • 1 (13 1/4 ounce) package whole wheat penne
  • 1 small white onion, chopped
  • 2 -3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons dried basil
  • salt
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese

Directions

  • 1 Cook pasta according to package directions.
  • 2 Meanwhile, saute onion in the olive oil, along with the dried basil. Saute over medium heat and stir frequently so the basil does not burn.
  • 3 Cook until onions are tender and translucent.
  • 4 Add salt to taste.
  • 5 When pasta is done, drain and add onion basil mixture.
  • 6 Add cheese and toss to coat.
  • 7 Serve warm.
  • 8 Add salt to taste if needed.
