My Smooth Fudge

Time: 1 hrs

Ingredients

  • 5 cups sugar
  • 12 ounces evaporated milk
  • 1/4 lb butter or 1/4 lb margarine
  • 12 ounces marshmallow cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 22 ounces semisweet chocolate pieces

Directions

  • 1 Combine first five ingredients in VERY LARGE Pan, stir over low heat until blended.
  • 2 Bring to boil over moderate heat, being careful not to mistake escaping air bubbles for boiling.
  • 3 Boil slowly, stirring constantly for 5 minutes (to soft boil stage).
  • 4 Remove from heat; stir in chocolate and vanilla until chocolate is melted.
  • 5 Pour into 2 buttered 9x9 inch pans and cool.
