Baked Onions Topped With French Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 large sweet onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups shredded swiss cheese
  • 1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 8 slices French bread, buttered both sides

Directions

  • 1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2 Cook onions in butter for 15 minutes until real soft.
  • 3 Arrange onions in greased 12x7 pan for baking.
  • 4 Sprinkle cheese over entire top.
  • 5 Blend soup, milk, soy sauce and pepper.
  • 6 Pour over cheese and onions and mix slightly.
  • 7 Arrange bread over top.
  • 8 Bake uncovered for 40 minutes.
